Gear
I regularly get asked how I go about electrifying my fiddle, so for those interested here is a run though of my usual setup.
Acoustic Fiddle
My acoustic fiddle is a 2015 Ateliers de la Dyle made in Brussels and purchased from the wonderful Philip Brown in Newbury. I also use a Ohrenform extra high chin rest with both fiddles, owing to having a rather long neck!
Electric Fiddle
With Threepenny Bit, and whenever there is any other call for an electric setup, I use a Sonic Classic purchased in 2013 with the following pedals:
- Line 6 Relay 30 Digital Wireless Receiver
- Peterson StroboStomp HD Tuner
- Empress 3-band Parametric Equalizer with ‘Boost’ (and homemade dial guard!)
- Hardwire RV-7
- Digital Stereo Reverb
- Boss DD-7 Digital Delay
- Orchid Electronics DI
With Threepenny Bit I also use a Coda Joule carbon fibre bow.
