Terms and Conditions

The following information outlines the terms and conditions for all music lessons.

Payments

Lessons are invoiced at the start of each half term, with payment expected within seven days of term starting. Bookings may be cancelled if payment is not received within that time. Fees should be paid by BACs. Where this is not possible please get in touch to discuss other options. 

Lesson fees are subject to annual review. Any increase in fees will be notified in writing during the term before the increase takes place.

Booking Lessons

Additional lessons may be scheduled during the holidays, with payments made either at the time or added on to the following half term’s invoice. 

Lesson Cancellations

I require at least 24 hours notice for a lesson cancellation otherwise the lesson will be charged at the full amount. Regretfully, I am unable to refund lesson fees paid in advance for any missed lessons without 24 hours notice. If cancellation is due to exceptional circumstances, I will endeavour to reschedule the lesson later that week where possible. 

If I have to cancel a lesson, I will endeavour to reschedule it. If I am unable to reschedule a lesson, I will offer a refund via the subsequent half term’s invoice.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS

Unless agreed in writing by both parties, a written notice period of six weeks (or one half term) is required to terminate lessons by either party.    

I reserve the right to terminate lessons indefinitely due to consistent absenteeism, lack of progress, bad behaviour and any reason relating the progress of other students or any other reasonable cause. Verbal abuse from parents or students will always result in instant termination of lessons without refund.

If I, with reasonable discretion, feel unable to continue tuition on account of conduct by the student or anyone connected with the student which makes it unethical or unsafe to continue teaching the student, the fees for any outstanding lessons will not be refundable.

COOLING-OFF PERIOD

The student has the legal right to cancel lessons within 14 days of the first payment being made under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This applies to payment for the first lessons with me only. 

GENERAL

The student will not be entered for any examination, competition or public performance without the prior consent of both the teacher and the student (or the student’s parent or guardian).

Please keep me informed of any changes in contact details (see my Privacy Policy for more details). Any changes in mobile number or address are essential especially for emergencies. It is important for you to have an answerphone on your telephone number to avoid disappointment as there may be occasional last minute changes to lessons due to unforeseen circumstances.
